“We genuinely care about our clients and want them to be happy with their real estate decisions. We do not question going the extra mile for our clients as our relationships go deeper than “just a deal”. I believe that is a key contributor in the growth we have experienced in the last few years and has helped Barclay Street build a strong reputation in the industry and community. Our roots go deep into the Alberta market and we are here to service the Calgary and Edmonton markets with a level of local expertise that is second to none.”

David’s career started over 35 years ago in Israel where he owned a successful insurance brokerage and was President and GM of his favorite professional basketball team. However, David saw bigger opportunities in his future when he, his wife and three children immigrated to Canada in 1999.

In 2000, David joined Torode Real Estate and began his career in Canadian commercial real estate. He was later invited to join a group of senior negotiators who bought Torode real estate brokerage in 2001. In 2003, David assumed the leadership role of President/Broker, and in 2004 the brokerage was rebranded under the name Barclay Street Real Estate.

In a few short years, David has made strides in growing Barclay Street locally and internationally. In late 2006, David added Property Management to Barclay Street’s portfolio of services and the division has grown dramatically in the last few years with properties throughout Alberta, managing today over 5 million Sq. Ft.

To expand Barclay’s national and global reach, David formed a partnership in 2011 with TCN Worldwide, a real estate services organization. As a member of TCN Worldwide, Barclay Street has the ability to service their customers on a local and international level through a network of over 1200 commercial real estate Brokers and Associates. In 2012 David was elected to the TCN Worldwide Board of Directors and served until 2019.

In April 2013, David received his CCIM - Certified Commercial Investment Member designation.

In June 2014, David launched a new venture, Triumph Real Estate Investment Fund. A private REIT focused on acquiring revenue producing properties in defined markets both in Canada and the U.S.A. David is Founder and President and is responsible for all real estate matters of the Fund as well as involved in raising funds for Triumph.

2016 to 2020, David co-chaired the Calgary Economic Development Real Estate Advisory Committee.

2022 to Current, David was re-elected to the Board of Directors for TCN Worldwide.

Currently, David co-hosts a weekly business talk show with Tara McCool on QR Radio - “Calgary Next – Diversifying and Leadership in New Economy”.

David has been married to his wife, Zohar, for almost 40 years. They have 3 children and three grandchildren.

With family-centric ideals, David ensures Barclay Street employees and clients feel like they are dealing with family, not just coworkers or a commercial real estate Broker.

I am pleased to write a letter of reference regarding the first-class brokerage service provided by Barclay Street with respect to the purchase of Red Deer Place. In sum, Barclay Street ensured that the disparity in size between the Vendor and the Purchaser was never an issue. Barclay Street acted as an ideal broker between a private, boutique firm. and a large institutional corporation. We very much look forward to our next transaction brokered by Barclay Street.

David Wallach knows that it’s not enough to just take care of the properties in Barclay Street Real Estate’s vast portfolio; to be successful, he has to take care of people, too.
